TECHNICAL SALES ENGINEER

BIOFerm™ USA, Inc., is currently looking for a Technical Sales Engineer within its Schmack Carbotech operations. Carbotech is one of the pioneers and market leaders in biogas purification with more than 40 years of experience in development, engineering and manufacturing of turnkey gas upgrading plants. The company is looking to add a key member to its operations team in Madison, Wisconsin. This position will report to the CEO of BIOFerm™ and will play an integral role in developing technical proposals and supporting the sales efforts for Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) and additional gas cleaning systems and technologies. The position will provide technical sales support to Sales Account Managers and customers for PSA and gas processing systems. The Technical Sales Engineer works closely with all other functions with the business group to help execute the project and ensure that effective proposals and project support are provided.

Essential Job Functions

  • Sales support for the PSA system

  • Identify PSA and gas processing opportunities for engagement

  • Develop solutions for PSA sales opportunities for new systems

  • Act as the technology line process specialist and coordinate all support needed for each assigned project

  • Prepare and assist in maintaining customer support material

  • Participate in setting and implementing the sales and technical strategy for projects

  • Write and coordinate technical proposals for PSA systems

  • Work with execution team to develop technical proposals, presentations, bid review, technical support, guarantee calculation and pricing

  • Take the lead technical role at customer meetings for bid clarifications, technology updates, technical proposal review and general positioning of respective technologies

  • Coordinate engineering and equipment proposal support via the liaison positions

  • Facilitate the transition of projects from sales to engineering and participate in project kickoff meeting

  • Provide competitive feedback from individual projects to management team

Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering

  • Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in the refining, petrochemicals or gas processing industries

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an engineering or technical sales role

  • Field construction and execution experience

  • Ability to effectively interface with global design and execution team is strongly preferred

  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Strong technical understanding of the gas cleaning technologies and process

  • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with external customers as well as with internal Engineering, R&D, Sales, and Technical Service groups

  • Ability to understand and apply business considerations to project support

  • Ability to travel up to 50% annually to domestic and international locations
