COMMISSIONING ENGINEER

BIOFerm™ Energy Systems Inc. is currently looking for a Commissioning Engineer within its Schmack Carbotech operations. Carbotech is one of the pioneers and market leaders in biogas purification with more than 40 years of experience in development, engineering and manufacturing of turnkey gas upgrading plants. The company is looking to add a key member to its operations team in Madison, Wisconsin. A Commissioning Engineer is required to provide commissioning, troubleshooting, problem solving, and service work for Carbotech’s systems in order to meet contractual and client satisfaction requirements. Strong project management, cost control and client management skills are required. Applicants should be highly motivated, with a willingness to learn and to grow with the business.

Essential Job Functions

  • Installation, commissioning and service of biogas purification systems in the US

  • Experience with various PLC systems and program troubleshooting

  • Project / Site management of individual systems, including correspondence and discussions with clients & internal staff

  • Planning, project scheduling and reporting for both the client and to internal staff

  • Developing and maintaining good client relations during various phases of work

  • Comply with all health and safety requirements established by the company, client, and law

  • Regular US travel will be required (up to 50%)

Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Process, or Chemical Engineering

  • A minimum of 3 to 10 years of experience in a related field, especially for the commissioning and start-up of process equipment.

  • Good teamwork, problem solving skills, and works well with clients.

  • Good organization, time management, and reporting skills.

  • Internally motivated, goal oriented, able to work independently in a dynamic environment while meeting deadlines.

  • Willingness to travel and work at project site.

  • Proficiency with software: MS Project, Outlook, Word, Excel and an ability to learn corporate software

  • A valid US passport or other document valid for international travel is required.
