The solar energy community has several exciting and innovative solar power competitions that attract competitors from all around the world. In the American Solar Challenge, teams build and race their own cars, which must be completely powered by the sun. The Solar Decathlon requires participants to build “market viable homes that use solar for heating and power.” Lastly, the Solar for All design contest challenges companies to create solar technologies for use by people around the world without access to power.
