SWANA’s 49th Annual WASTECON Comes to Music City
August 23-25, Gaylord Opryland, Nashville, TN
Silver Spring, MD – The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) will hold its 49th Annual WASTECON event in Nashville, TN, on August 23-25, 2011. WASTECON 2011 will take place at the Gaylord Opryland Resort with nearly 3,000 solid waste professionals in attendance, and over 200 exhibitors displaying the latest in waste management equipment, products and services.The conference will include SWANA’s inaugural Waste Conversion Technologies (WCT) Showcase and technical session track, to focus on newly emerging technologies for recovering energy or products from solid waste, including gasification, pyrolysis, plasma arc and anaerobic digestion technologies.
Also new this year is SWANA’s elected officials track, geared toward sharing information on solid waste management that should be of interest to elected officials. “It’s a great opportunity for community leaders to learn more about solid waste management, which is a critical factor in community planning and management across North America,“ said John H. Skinner, Ph.D. SWANA’s Executive Director and CEO.
SWANA’s premier annual event will include over 75 technical presentations in various featured solid waste tracks, including communication, education and marketing; collection and transfer; planning and management; landfill management; landfill gas; waste-to-energy; and recycling and special waste.
