Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: UWO Project “A Renewable Energy Laboratory”

An article in the Journal Sentinel’s business section emphasizes the unique features of the first dry fermentation plant in the US. Providing “a living, learning laboratory so that our students and faculty can experience what renewable energy is like” is the major goal according to Tom Sonnleitner, University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Vice-Chancellor. Additionally, the university expects to generate 5% to 10% of its electricity through the biogas plant and to use organic waste from its cafeterias as feedstock, reducing overall amounts of garbage.
