There is an ongoing battle in many states throughout the country on the issue of repealing bans of yard waste in landfills.  Proponents of repealing the bans may be hoping to gain back money through tipping fees that can be collected through disposing of these materials at the landfills, while recycling advocates argue that these materials can be put to a better use by composting and/or anaerobically digesting the material.  The US Composting Council (of which BIOFerm is a member) is fighting these repeals in states such as Georgia and Michigan by rallying supporters and organizing lobbying efforts.  For more information on available resources, see the USCC website.  Click here to read the original MSW Management article.
