Biomass Magazine Article on UWO Project

- August 15th, 2011

Biomass Magazine recently published an article on the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s biodigester project.  In addition to pointing out the features of the plant which will process 8,000 tons per year of organic material, this piece emphasized the value that will be added to the University through research opportunities and curriculum based on running the plant.  Also, University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Foundation President Art Rathjen pointed out that revenue from energy sales at the plant will be put toward scholarship funds for future students.  Rathjen said, “We had seen it as not just a chance to go ahead and help the university advance one of its goals or mission objectives (sustainability), but also there was an opportunity to turn some of this income into a way to help students further their education.”
